IT's Your Music, Let's make it your Record

You want your music to be heard and appreciated by all of your current and future fans.

Once its released, the songs are out there forever. The last thing you want is to hate the sound of your own songs for the next decade. I've been there myself, and it's a terrible feeling.

There's nothing worse than going back to an album you spent a year of your life on, only to hate the final product.

Let's create something you will be proud of

You've written songs you love, and you have a vision for the sound of the final product. Now its time to capture it.

Freestone Sound will work side by side with you to capture and finish your record the way you want it to sound.

Our goal is for you to be completely happy.

What You GET

Whether you think it's necessary or not, it always helps to have someone listen to your songs, make a preliminary plan for arrangement and give some ideas to make sure your songs stay interesting.  If you prepare well, and think everything through, you will have a much better idea of where you are going, even if things change later on.

Before going into record I always encourage you to rehearse your songs more than you think you need to.  Recording is much different than performing, and most people will become more critical of their performances in the studio.  Its also much less tedious if you can lay down your tracks in as few takes as possible.

This is where we will spend most of our time.  We will work together to capture your songs piece by piece so that things fit together well and reaches your vision, We can make almost any sound happen, between real musicians, Virtual Instruments and effects, the sound possibilities are endless!

Any Drum tracks will be done at Real Studio, right around the corner from me in Bethlehem, and the price of that session is included.

Timeline will depend on everyone's availability.

As we get things completed, I will spend time fixing performances, and making sure everything sounds natural.  After we are done recording, there will be some time needed to polish parts before we can start mixing.

This usually takes 1-2 weeks

This is the process of putting everthing together and making it sound like a record.

This can include, but is not limited to: EQ, Compression, Parallel Compression, Limiting, Normalization, Saturation, Automation, Delay, Reverb, Creating Busses and Sends, Balancing Levels, Making Stuff Sound Excellent, Etc.

Mixing will take about a day per song, not including revisions.

Included for free are 3 rounds of mix revisions.  Take your time and make a list of things that you want changed until we get everything right. My goal is to make this as smooth and easy of a process as possible for you, and make you happy.

This is the final stage. I can master your record, but I always recommend that we get an outside pair of ears to put the final touches on your record.  I can recommend a Mastering engineer and build the price into your project.

Timeline is 1-2 days when scheduled.

Mastering seems to be the elusive dark art that no one understands. Here's the most simple explanation I could find:

Mastering is the final step of audio post-production. The purpose of mastering is to balance sonic elements of a stereo mix and optimize playback across all systems and media formats. Traditionally, mastering is done using tools like equalization, compression, limiting and stereo enhancement.

There are several considerations in this process: unifying the sound of a record, maintaining consistency across an album, and preparing for distribution
