What You GET

Whether you think it's necessary or not, it always helps to have someone listen to your songs, make a preliminary plan for arrangement and give some ideas to make sure your songs stay interesting.  If you prepare well, and think everything through, you will have a much better idea of where you are going, even if things change later on.

Before going into record I always encourage you to rehearse your songs more than you think you need to.  Recording is much different than performing, and most people will become more critical of their performances in the studio.  Its also much less tedious if you can lay down your tracks in as few takes as possible.

This is where we will spend most of our time.  We will work together to capture your songs piece by piece so that things fit together well and reaches your vision, We can make almost any sound happen, between real musicians, Virtual Instruments and effects, the sound possibilities are endless!

This is the process of putting everything together and making it sound like a record.

This can include, but is not limited to: EQ, Compression, Parallel Compression, Limiting, Saturation, Automation, Delay, Reverb, Creating Busses and Sends, Balancing Levels, Making Stuff Sound Excellent, Etc.

Mixing will take about a day per song.

You are encouraged to listen critically to the mixes and make notes on things you don't like or would like changed.  I will do the same, make any tweaks necessary and send you a new mix.  Usually 2 rounds of revisions will get us where we need to be.  During this stage feel free to get suggestions from someone else you trust.  Its easy to get lose the big picture when you are so focused on creating.

This is the final stage.

Mastering seems to be the elusive dark art that no one understands. Here's the most simple explanation I could find:

Mastering is the final step of audio post-production. The purpose of mastering is to balance sonic elements of a stereo mix and optimize playback across all systems and media formats. Traditionally, mastering is done using tools like equalization, compression, limiting and stereo enhancement.

There are several considerations in this process: unifying the sound of a record, maintaining consistency across an album, and preparing for distribution

Timeline is 1-2 days when scheduled.

The Fine Print

Instead of a bunch of legal jargon, here are our terms and conditions in plain English.

A deposit of 25% is required to begin Pre-Production.  This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferrable.  Another 25% is due before the first recording session.

If for any reason you change or cancel your project, after work has begun, your deposit is forfeited.

The remaining balance is due before you will receive your final mixes or masters.

If you need to reschedule, please let us know as early into the process as possible. We try to be as accommodating as possible when it comes to unexpected delays.

There is no rescheduling fee, but we reserve the right to cancel your project and forfeit your deposit if the project is delayed by more than 12 months.

Additonal Fees

Each section of the recording process assumes it will take about 2 hours to complete a part, if for some reason we need significant extra time, some hourly charges will be included in your final invoice.

All your files will be backed up and kept for a minimum of 90 days after your project is complete.  In the unlikely event that your project is lost by our own negligence, we will be responsible to replace any time needed to re-record your project.

You are fully responsible for any instruments and equipment you bring to your session.  You also agree to be responsible for any studio equipment that may be lost or broken by you or your entourage while making your record.

We promise to keep your recordings private, and to not share or sample them without your express permission.  However, by signing below you do give us permission to use your final mixes for studio advertising purposes.
